In Singapore, bank and payment licences cover different services. Learn how MAS regulates financial institutions and which SGD deposits can qualify for SDIC protection.

Singapore’s financial services landscape

Singapore is a regional centre for banking, payments, insurance and capital-market services. The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) regulates financial institutions across these sectors and maintains a directory of their regulated activities.

Not every company offering financial services is a deposit-taking bank. Singapore’s deposit insurance scheme, administered by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation (SDIC), protects eligible Singapore-dollar deposits at scheme members. Product and currency eligibility must be checked separately. NEXVORO currently lists institutions for Singapore without published individual products.
