Swedish banks, licences and deposit insurance
Sweden has major banks, local savings institutions and specialist financial firms. Its currency is the Swedish krona (SEK). Finansinspektionen (FI) authorises many types of financial business and supervises firms for financial soundness and consumer protection.
The Swedish National Debt Office (Riksgälden) administers protection for eligible deposits. However, an account held with a Swedish branch of a foreign bank is generally covered by the scheme in the bank's licensing country. NEXVORO currently lists Swedish institutions without a published catalogue of their individual financial products.
